Here’s My Top 5 Fav Steam Horror Co-Op Games as of Nov 2025
I need to preface this list by saying that I am a PC girl. While I started my gaming journey as a kid glued to my PS2 and Gamecube, I eventually moved on to the Switch and finally PC. I just enjoy the options and variety that Steam has, so it’s become my go-to. I’ve literally lost an hour or two digging into the sea of endless horror games and wishlisting as many as I possibly could. So I’m not sure if these games are available outside of PC devices. I apologize to my Xbox and PlayStation readers!
Please know this list is in no particular order and, honestly, is ever-changing. My group of friends are as adventurous as I am in trying new games. So keep your eyes peeled for an update in a few months, cause it’ll probably be a whole new list.
Inside the Backrooms
Yeah, I’m already back to talking about creepypastas, but the Backrooms has to be my Number One favorite pasta. I’ve lost more than a few hours to researching the lore behind this liminal space, and to say I am fascinated is an understatement. I’m still holding my breath for the A24 movie! So when one of my friends suggested we give it a go, there was no hesitation from me. We haven’t made it through to completion yet, but there is something thrilling about wandering the ever-expanding backrooms with friends, looking for puzzle clues and objects while being chased by monsters my nightmares don’t even dare to conjure.
Labyrinthine
There are two different ways to play this game - the main story or the mini games. My squad completed the main storyline, which was equal parts horrifying and chaotic. You’re working Halloween night at a haunted carnival where people have gone missing over the last few weeks. You and your fellow employees are tasked to join the search party, but the deeper into the corn field you go, the more you realise something darker is at play.
Each environment you jump into has fresh monsters (each one has its own unique weakness that you have to figure out) and new challenges you need to face, which keeps things interesting. If you and your team are short on time, though, the quick mini games are small mazes that you need to traverse through - avoiding monsters, each unique to their environment, as you collect objects to help make your escape. We enjoyed the game so much that we are planning a night to play through these mini maps.
Burger Bots
This one is just pure silliness with a side dose of horror, which always is a great combo. Work in a fast-paced fast-food joint with friends on the side of an outer-space equivalent to a highway. Struggle to meet your debt quota while battling angry customers turned monsters, rats, mechanical failures, and a hungry vent creature, all before you’re closed down - permanently. Expect some arguments and a lot of screaming - especially at the rat. I hate that guy.
Don’t Scream Together
This one is fresh off the presses, just released on Dec 3rd. My squad and I were so excited that we got it and played it that very night. Have you ever wanted to experience the Blair Witch project but with friends, cause that is exactly what this game feels like. Traverse - quietly - an open world map moving from location to location, collecting symbols, camera batteries, avoiding traps, hunters, and haunts to survive the night - cause if you scream, you die. This one became an instant favorite. The devs really took their time getting the atmosphere just right, and the environments are fun to experience. The first time the siren played, the hair stood up on the back of my neck - and as someone who consumes a lot of horror, that doesn’t happen as often anymore. My team and I had a great time, and at one point I laughed so loud I died - which only made it funnier. Plus, the game is a great price!
I do want to make a final note on this one - the game is getting a lot of negative reviews due to the mic settings. They have already released a mini patch in an attempt to help with the issue people are experiencing, so go into this with some patience and understanding that you might need to fiddle with the settings. It’s absolutely worth it, and if you do have a good time, please consider leaving the devs a positive review.
Nuclear Nightmare
You’re probably seeing a very obvious pattern here. Quests and Monsters seem to be my dream combo, and Nuclear Nightmare is no different. You’re a team of scientists in the Arctic when something deadly awakens beneath the snow. Move your team across the map to collect evidence, complete quests, and signal to the outside world that you need to be rescued - all while battling the cold, avoiding infection, and nightmarish creatures.
The game was recently updated as of November 2025, with new maps and new creatures, so there is a wider variety to the game if you're just checking it out now. I do have to mention, my favorite part of the game, though, is if you do become infected, you have a chance to come back as a monster and hunt your own team.
So, do you agree with my list? Are there any you plan on trying, or maybe there are some I’ve overlooked? Let me know, and happy gaming!
